regular schools set up to me and what a lot of people seem like like prison that you have to be in straight lines you can't have your phone out you have to wear shoes you know they make you do a lot of things that are unnecessary no I've never seen teachers passionate about teaching just straight-out there's no other way to describe it I think I mean it's like everybody together the old school it was like different everybody was on different floors it was different between agree in the people but now here is like everybody together we could see each other and it's good just treat you like an adult I really do when we come in like we don't have metal detectors we don't have to Dirty Mo schools you know that they have it the teachers in here they really care for you can feel it you can feel it when you come in and you can feel the love because of the support that you have in here and it's like who wouldn't want that so I think there's a popular narrative that exists about students who have disengaged from school and you know the most popular word has dropped out and that put lot of onus on the student says the soonest fully in control of what happens when they enter School building and what happens there educational Journey for trying to help people understand that there are other factors at Play Because learning to most it is in the fridge setting is very dull they're not connecting it to the real world but not going to get your own personal experiences when they come here and realize this was about what are you interested in settling math becomes relevant totally social studies becomes relevant that you didn't want to do becomes relevant because it's all around your passion your interest out of that time you've got anywhere between 8 and 9. Depending on the who won the day next Friday are completely different different I think that the simple fact that our classes are smaller is the first key to show the Howard different so Monday Wednesday they have different cool but they have something called a project lock it was a mad scientist English their core classes but that's more about your additional day Tuesdays and Thursdays are the internship dates of Tuesdays and Thursday those are our designated Real World Learning opportunity days so the idea is if we want to take your education and put it out into the real world yes I think the internship really gives us a contact to do like the project lifted because it is that real world learning that persist contextualize like as soon as passion ready to give them I check to see how something they love just because of who they are applies to the real world based on their own personal fashion teachers information they can contact you they want to put teaching is one farting a visor visor where is true to the word we advise students in on what they need to do in their education I'm getting to next steps in their lives and I think when we're doing our jobs the right way students are really engaged in are there any because they have a huge stake in it with very different backgrounds for the idea is that the more caregivers or caretakers there are in a space likely they are to succeed. are people time and time again refer to it as a family here in El Centro I know the staff feels like a family this is probably the second home for a moose for me the thing that really stands out how it's different is the warmth in the love in this place I also kind of thinking I would say we like a little happy band of Misfits the students as well as the teachers I think the teachers have found a place different than any other place that they talk and they can be there most authentic selves and really teach out of their passions which makes them better teachers or if I and I'm the students I think that they feel really safe here I think they feel really sick accepted and loved and they know that and I think they have an opportunity to be the best self so it's pretty cool
