Justin is an el Centro graduate. We are so proud to announce that Justin is the winner of the Chris Mello Award for Leadership at the Peirce College Year Up program!

 

While Justin was definitely not successful in his first or second stint at el Centro, advisors Tim Spady and Douglas Cox, along with Resilience Specialist Joe Lively, played a huge role in honoring Justin’s commitment to living a very different life than what he had been caught up in. ​By the time Justin enrolled at el Centro the third time, that commitment was manifest in his excellence -- he rarely missed a day of school, completed outstanding projects, had a successful internship, and supported his classmates extremely well.

 

This past year, Justin was an imaging specialist intern at JP Morgan Chase in the Financial Operations department. They have hired him full time, and Justin is going to continue his studies at Peirce College.

 

Justin just completed the Year Up program at Peirce College. Year Up "empowers low-income young adults to go from poverty to professional careers in a single year" by connecting millions of talented, motivated young adults who lack opportunity to companies that lack the talent they need to succeed.
