Opening with 126 ninth grade students, Vaux Big Picture High School in Sharswood is part of an ambitious revitalization project undertaken by the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA). In a unique partnership between Big Picture Philadelphia, PHA, the School District of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, this new neighborhood Big Picture school aims to serve as a community anchor – providing a proven educational approach alongside community housing, health care, and adult education services.
