Big Picture Philadelphia depends on the generosity of local organizations (non-profits, businesses and corporations) in order to provide our students with access to meaningful internship options. Our students have a wide range of interests, ranging from working with their hands (carpentry, mechanics, cosmetology, fashion) to the arts (music, photography, dance, film, design) to business, science, health, politics and beyond. We attempt to find the right match for all of our students so that they can gain practical experience and exposure in their field of interest. The only way for us to offer students experiential learning relevant to their career interests is through partnerships with local organizations. Our internship partners are overwhelmingly impressed by the dedication and curiosity of our students and the vast majority has found that the internship opportunity has been mutually beneficial. The internship host agrees on a project for the student to focus on, ideally to support a goal of the internship host as well as provide a hands-on project for the intern.
